planning to plasterboard and skim my recently gutted bathroom and ceiling and tile the the areas that will get splashed including shower area over bath, will normal plasterboard be suitable?

no it wont use aquaboard

no not for the whole build use 12.5mm for ceiling and skim to a finish use moisture resisting plasterboard for walls skim areas not to be tiled seal boards to be tiled with pva or sbr scrim joints and tile 24 hrs later simples

You shouldn't see scrim tape, the plaster has been applied to thinly, or in one coat. Advise application of another coat, making sure PVA is applied to new plastering.

hello there i wood use Moisture Resistant Board as normel plasterboard will rot over time hope this will help you

Please keep in mind Aquapanel still absorbs moisture the differance being it won't break down when wet. If you have water getting behind tiling you have a problem no matter whats at the back.

No normal boards aren’t meant for moisture. I would use an aqua panel or Hardibacker board

Moisture resistant board is a must.
For the wet areas, cement board is advisable (sts, hardie becker, aquapanel etc..)
You can also skim over the moisture board and tank it (mapei aqua defence membrane sf) before tiling. But as some people have said, if there is a leak, then no matter what you put on, it will be affected.
