It is 60 bricks per metre squared (4" wall) due to brickwork gauges but stretcher bond is cheaper as there will be less wastage in cutting closures.

Stretcher is cheaper and easier less waste than doing it in Flemish bond due to using closers stretcher is quicker to build as well

Stretcher bond is cheaper But if it is 1 brick thick you would be better to build in Flemish bond for strength There are plenty of brickwork bonds for 1 brick thick and it looks better and stronger Eg Flemish bond English bond Flemish garden wall English garden wall there are many more

Stretcher bond (half bond has it is often referred too), is by far the cheapest. In a half thick (4 1/2" in old money) wall scenario, the cost of Flemish bond goes up considerably due to the amount of cutting - snapping headers and cutting closures. Flemish bond always looks better to me though, I was brought up on it.
