Who can fix a chimney leak where the elbow of a gas boiler joins the base of the chimney
Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.53 PM
We have a floor-standing gas boiler that vents to a chimney directly above. The chimney leaked where the elbow joins the base of the chimney. The crack is on the underside of the chimney, around the entire elbow. The elbow itself I believe is metal. We are getting the chimney stack repaired, as we know this is the cause of the leak. But we don't know who can repair this crack, or what might be involved.

Hi there depending on what boiler flue is made from and to what size it is you can always renew flue section back to boiler.

I would brake seal. Re seal re .fix. but you need a gas safe person to do this. Should be an easy job unless metal parts have rotten.rusted beyond safe usage.
