Vibrating shower pipes - cold water

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.53 PM

Hi all, Our shower pipes nearly always make a loud noise for about 30 seconds to a minute when we turn it on (after which time it stops and doesn’t come back). Sounds to me like a case of the pipes needing clipped down... What’s thrown me off is that whenever the vibrating happens, only cold water comes out of the shower. As soon as the vibrating stops the water warms back up straight away. This happens even when I’m the second person to shower... water will be warm initially, then vibrating starts and water turns cold, then stops and water warms up again. Is this still just vibrating pipes or could there be something more to it? Thanks in advance!

It can be multiple reason but cartridges first thing to focus in that case. Replace the tap cartridge and see if resolve the issue first.

Consult with a Corgi registered Plumber/ Engineer. It may be expensive, it may not. Get at least 3 estimates. Good Luck

this could be a problem with your boiler if it is a combi,it could be a problem with shower cartridge or shower valves,or non return valves on shower,it could be a problem with unbalanced water pressure at shower, you need a qualified plumber to sort it out.

You dont need a corgi registered plumber if its not gas it sounds like there is air trapped in pipes somewhere. Or a shower bar problem .
