Shower leaks when turned on. Tiled surround and cermaic tray appears to be watertight.

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.07 PM

I suspect the mixer cylinder (Horizontal barrel with stainless rotary tap coming out of rear wall of shower) Drips down the inside of the shower tray below entry point of supply. Only happens when shower turned on so mixer mechanism suspected. Can this be fixed without removing tiles and retiling shower unit?

Hi tam-lynass. Great question but could do with a pic or manufacturer details. Some can be expensive to fix using the manufacture's own repair team ie, £75 call out plus time on job. Could be you can just change the unit but it depends on the make / age etc. Regards, Bob.

If it’s visible then yes, it’s doable. If it’s the other side off the tiles then they would have to be removed to access the pipework

If the the leak is visible then it shouldn't be a problem
