Building extension over raised garden wall as part of the building design

i, I'm looking for some advice and opinion on a 5m rear extension design. The garden is approx 7m wide x 12m long. About 4m from the back of the house (the place we want to extend from) is a 0.5m high brick wall with and a raised soil/clay/grass area. This has recessed steps leading onto the grassy area on top. I'd like to know if:
1. Can you technically and practically build an extension over this wall and have it inside the extension kind of like a platform (approx 1m) so the steps and wall are inside the extension and when you get to the top step and you open the doors you are level with the grassy area. The question is, is this possible/doable?
2. Is it a good idea to do it this way to save space and maximize the garden area or better to remove the wall and clear the soil (approx 2m x 7m x 0.5m). The question is, is it a good idea to do it?
I would appreciate any advice and personal opinions. Thank you.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?
From your description I'd say that the idea is technically possible but you would probably have to rebuild the wall and steps. Additionally it would probably mean a higher ceiling level - at least at the stairs

If you want to build the extension on top of an existing wall, which is what i'm assuming you are getting at, then I would advise not too. The existing wall may not have the structural capacity to take the weight of the new extension roof. There could also be potential damp issues as the existing wall is sort of a retaining wall. My advice would be to demolish the small existing wall and rebuild it with new foundations that can take the load of the new extension roof. I would also add further water proofing to the new retaining wall to stop damp.
from your description, I think you are asking for a split level floor, which is do-able. However, this would obviously split the floor into two levels and spoil the internal floor area for arranging furniture etc. It will also increase your ceiling level. It is possible to do, but most people creat a level internal floor and form a patio area outside at the lower level and recreate the brick tiered wall etc.
I hope that all makes sense and is of help to you.

Hi Generally a flat even site is the easiest to work with. I suggest you seek the assistance of a local qualified Structural Engineer who can assess the Ground conditions and provide you with some sound and practical advice. Regards David
