Second Fix needs to be completed
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.06 PM
My first fix is done by an electrician. Can I get my second fix done from another one. My electrician is not giving time for second fix.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Who is going to certify it all? The person who wired it or the person who 2nd fixes it? Bit of a dilemma for yourself as if it’s the 2nd person he would be taking responsibility for the other persons work, and vice versa if it’s the first. Either way I personally wouldn’t be happy with either situation.

You can do it but you aren’t likely to get a reputable electrician willing to take over someone else’s work unless they can see all of the wiring installed.

Hi Rajan,
Ofcourse you can, provided the next electrician carries out relevant testing once second fix is complete and he’s satisfied; jobs a gooden!
Hope this helps

As an Electrician I have been put in this situation a few times. It's no big deal, if your electrician is able to inspect the initial install and satisfy both themselves and you then that is ideal. If not then whoever takes over can just take responsibility for the 2nd fix only.

You are the customer so you can chose but I would be asking myself why wont the first electrician come back to 2nd fix. He maybe able to recommend someone that he knows is happy to complete the 2nd fix.
Ideally it would be the same sparky but as we all know the world isn't ideal!
