Downstairs toilet, wall and gap repair.

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.06 PM

I have had a toilet and basin vanity unit installed and require the wall to be repaired. The toilet cistern that was removed has left a patch that needs filled and smoothed out, possibly to just be tiled/splashback put in. There is also a gap between the unit and wall which requires to be filled. What is the best way to repair the wall and also fill the gap?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi Laura Is many ways to fill gaps and cover areas, is very hard to find best solution if you are not see issue, but you can do: # remove existing areas and retile # use bathroom upvc cladding Hope that helps Regards Marcin from M.A.B.S Building Solutions

It's hard to say which is the best option when you can't see the issue but if it's a large gap, you could use expanding foam. When it goes off it can be sanded and painted. If the gap is only small, silicone sealant may do the job.

May be able to use filler if area is not to big , if not a patching plaster .Then tile or sand smooth and paint . Small gaps can be filled with silicone , larger gaps a wood fillet fixed with adhesive or silicon .
