New roof 2018, Roofer will not return to fix leak into bedroom.

Roof light leaking due to poor flashing ? Text roofer 18th October 2019 to ask a return to cure. He said on holiday, be there when back. He has never bothered as I write 13/01/2020. As leaking into bedroom I had to make temporary repair with sealer but it needs doing properly as it should have been done at first. This is the second leak, he came back on that occasion and this stained my bedroom ceiling also. However I need the flashings done correctly by a decent roofer. I paid this rotten guy nearly £17,000 and he still won’t return. Should I take him to small claims court.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Yes I would definitely take him to court a fishing repair isn’t a big job at all I personally would

Yes I would highly recommend taking him to small claims court as he hasn't done the job right and also hasn't come back to fix the problems and caused property damaged.

There is to many so called builders out there who claim they can do this and that and basically take peoples hard earned money to easy they should all be stopped and barred from working in the building trade and let professionals do a proper job
Therefor i would go to trading standards file a complaint then take him to a small claims court and make him pay for all the extra damage caused by the leak

If the roof the velux is fitted to is less than 17* and he has fitted a standard one it will always leak.
Get this checked first and if so , court is the answer but only if he’s had the opportunity to rectify on a said date offered
If the roof has slates or tiles and is more than 16*, there are two types of flashing for different type roofs
