Kitchen Fitting

Gas boiler inside the kitchen cabinet

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.29 PM

Hi All, Possibly a silly question but i am finding contradicting information. I am thinking of replacing a kitchen in next few weeks. Its a fairly small one with a gas combi boiler situated about 30 centimeters from the corner of the kitchen. Previous owner has put on a dividing wall to isolate boiler from rest of the kitchen - basically build up an open "cage" for the boiler. What i would like to do is to remove this dividing plasterboard and hide the boiler inside the kitchen cabinets, so the whole wall looks the same and not out of place. Is this allowed by regulations to have the gas boiler "hidden/masked" inside the kitchen cabinets? Thanks, Paul

Hi Paul, It is perfectly acceptable to have a boiler situated within a kitchen cabinet and provides a nice neat install, you just need to ensure the fitter leaves enough space around the boiler for the front to be able to be removed for servicing, the flue must also be visible and accessible and also access to any filling loops or magna clean type accessories for ease of use. No problem provided the boiler is correctly vented on an outside wall

It is perfectly ok to fit a combi boiler inside a unit as long as the ventilation is ok and that there is enough room left for the boiler to be serviced/repaired

Part of it is fine but it needs ventilation for the boiler
