New boiler fitted but mind of its own
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.06 PM
I've had a new boiler fitted. A Vaillant ecoPure. Comfort mode is not active. We have a wall control that reads the temp and has set timings, also one next to the tank which has timing and can call for advanced heating/water. Have tested the relay between the two controls. Problem is, the boiler comes on before set times, low temp set to 18°C, boiler will still kick in at 23°C and burn away. It just keeps wanting to be on, whether or not it's meant to regardless of what's present. Any advice would be appreciated.

It sounds like you have a wireless rf thermostat that is ever set up incorrectly or is loosing signal... check wether it has things like weather compensation and or heat curvature I hope this helps also 18’ for the off periods seems a bit high

Are you using vaillant controls or just regular timer ? Normally the procedure is the signal will pass through the timer followed by the stat before firing up the boiler. Check to see if the pump is running with the timer switch to off ? Could be a sticking relay on the zone valve that's causing the issue. This will bypass the timer and stat.
