Boiler pressure low only when working

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.26 PM

Hi, Boiler pressure is getting low when working, but when turned off the pressure goes back up to where it should be. According to different websites the pressure should go up slightly, which makes sense. Had an engineer in a month ago who was telling how the boiler is too old and needs to be replaced. Initial cause to ask the engineer in was that the boiler was leaking from the pressure release valve. He claimed to have done a lot of things fo it z d that he has repaired it for the time, still insisting that needs changing though. Everything has been working fine since, until I noticed the above mentioned issue with the pressure going down when working. Any advice will be greatly appreciated Thanks, Asen

Hi Asen On some models of boiler when the pump starts it can cause a negative pressure on the gauge hence displaying a lower pressure than when the pump is not running. This can sometimes be a indication of restrictions inside the waterways but sometimes it’s normal operation with some boilers.
