Vitra V-Care Toilet – Malfunction and Broken Toilet Seat

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.28 PM

Hi, Looking for some advice as we stayed in a holiday rental property over the weekend which had a Vitra V-Care toilet (totally excessive and unnecessary in a cheap rental!), and since returning home, we’ve now been accused of breaking it. The electric toilet seat opening and closing didn’t work when we arrived, it would only open the seat half way, and then went back down again. We therefore used the toilet seat manually all weekend, as we were told we could do, and had absolutely no issues using it this way. The owners are now complaining that there is a bit broken off the toilet seat (a small piece of plastic broken off the very back of the seat on the right hand side when standing in front of the toilet - down the side of the 'Vitra V-Care logo) which we must have caused by using excessive force, and that the toilet seat is no longer attached to the toilet. None of us caused that damage to the toilet, and we don’t even understand how that damage could be caused by just manually opening and closing the seat and lid as we did. We imagine that the motor to lift the seat up and down is located there, and so believe it must have broken as part of the electrical malfunction of the seat going up and down, perhaps it was getting stuck, which is nothing to do with us. Does anyone have any experience with these toilets, and have experienced this issue previously? Thanks so much in advance for your help! Thanks, Jack

you can either open or close the seat manually or via the remote control. to access the basic functions should be from the side of the wc such as front and rear cleaning but the remote control ultimately enables you to fully utilise all the features of V-care for comfort. clearly a electrical problem if was not operating via the remote but manually overriding the seat should not damage any functions or the seat itself

Hi This is quite simple the owners have given you permission to use this seat while its been faulty Not working , this seat should of been changed or taken of , especially in a rental environment , you are not at fault as they have give you permission to use it when it was allread broken and in need of replacing , there just trying to get a new wc seat out of you guys , and they should take full responsibility kind regards Simon Bates
