Bricklaying & Repointing

damp patches appearing when it rains. Could it still be a wall problem or roof?

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.28 PM

Spent a lot of money repointing an external wall only for my loft internal wall to continue to have damp patches whenever it rains. What could be the problem? I need it resolved before it gets any worse. No idea if it’s a cavity or solid wall. There is a chimney on either side of the patches.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

it really impossible to say what is causing the problem without looking at the property, it could be either a roof or a wall issue. get someone local out to check whats happening. good luck Alex

If there is a chimney in the damp area you may have a flashing issue ? or may be a leaking roof need to see detail/photos of damp area pj
