Hi,
I have a Glow-Worm Easicom 24 Combi boiler (almost two years old) the pressure is down at 0.4 percent and while it’s still working, the pressure is too low to heat the radiators upstairs. I need to increase the pressure but can’t figure out how to, there is no filling loop system that I’m aware of, there is only one inlet for cold water and no other pipes coming off the cold water inlet pipe unlike my previous boiler. This makes me think that there must be a way to increase the pressure internally but having had the cover off, this is not obvious.
Does anyone have any ideas
Cheers
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?
Look under the boiler you will see 2 small blue or black taps linked together with a stainless steel flexible hose. Open both taps and the pressure will go up. Close both taps once you hit 1-1.5bar. You will need to bleed every radiator for the system to work efficiently.
Thanks
Amir
Take a good look up at the underside of the boiler. Gloworm supplied an integral filler on the boiler valves.
The valves themselves may or may not have had the thumb turn levers fitted. The valve thumb turn heads and screws are available from most heating spares stockist and are easy to fit.
Only fill to 1.0 bar. If the pressure drops again check your heating system for leaks. If no leak is found you may need a new prv inside the boiler. To check this find the 15mm copper pipe that comes from the boiler and goes outside to terminate. Under the boiler this pipe is held in place by a brass knurled nut on the pipe.
under the boiler you should see a pipe that has a place for you to put a flat head screwdriver, turn this until you see the pressure rise on the gauge.
check rads for leaks if your pressure is still dropping
