Insulation for cold/damp wall in bathroom renvoation

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.52 PM

How to properly insulate a single-skin concrete wall but also fix a 2x4 timber stud to it without compromising the insulation/vapour control. Also - Special screws? Treated-timber?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Build the stud off the wall by 25mm fixing at top and bottom. Reduce your timber down to 75x50mm and I always use treated timbers for all stud work. Insulate with 100mm celotex or similar. Use foil tape on all joints where stud work meets insulation Do not use loft roll. Then fit foil backed plaster board. You won't get more robust than that. Hope this helps
