Kitchen was erupted with faeces from WC above. Urgent help!

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.52 PM

My builder has built the extension on top of the sewer with a Y-junction to an inspection chamber. The WC and Bathroom are on the first floor, with the extension. The SVP had to be bent to run to the corner to the building (internally boxed out) and also feed the Kitchen sink. The extension is still in construction but the sink waste erupted today with the foul waste scattered everywhere. Hes blaming the drainage and saying its not his fault and I need to get a drainage surveyor, but they did the replumbing, relocation of SVP and covering of the manhole to the sewer (build-over). Can someone tell me if he is right? because to me it seems like they've blocked it somewhere.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

A blockage has caused the waste to find the weakest point, which happened to be the sink waste If you had no issues before the building works it could have been caused by the works, but could be coincidence. Unfortunately you will need an inspection to prove either way.
