Gap between edges of intricate ceiling rose and ceiling
Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.52 PM
Hi, I have some large gaps between the ceiling rose and the ceiling. The edges are intricate - a leaf like pattern (not a smooth circle edge). On one side the gaps are up to 8mm and on the "best" side just a couple of mm. What is the best way to fill in the gaps? 1. Mix up some plaster and 'shove it in' and smooth it out in order to mirror the mould? (Any particular brand?) 2. Or use caulking? 3. live with it? Thanks in advance Andy

You can use caulk or filler just clean as you go with damp cloth to keep it looking sharp and clean

Caulk will probably be your best bet. Only problem with caulk, especially if wetted to achieve a smooth finish, is that it can shrink back. So if you're not in a hurry, caulk it once with the aim to fill the gap, wait a day or two and the caulk again to achieve finish
