glow worn betacom 30c hot water and heating pressure spiking.

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.05 PM

Hi i have an old glow worn betacom 30c combi boiler. The heating and hot water are both doing the same thing when turned on. the pressure spikes from 1.5 to 3+ bar and then shuts off. if you leave either turned on they continue to do the same thing over and over. any help please.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi, it sounds like the expansion vessel could be faulty. This component allows the water to expand when it gets hot and helps regulate the pressure in the boiler, a simple remedy can sometimes be draining the vessel down ,checking the pressure and inflating if necessary Thanks Tom

A heating engineer would be easily able to sort this problem for a fee.

My opinion is that the valve that separates the fitting from the hot water is broken and the two water are mixed so the pressure is raised and the boiler is switched off
