New Build

Personnel door to garage

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.05 PM

Hi, I’m about to buy a new build which is just about complete. The double garage was used for the show home office and I am wanting to know if the rear door will be left or will they brick it up. I hope someone can help!! Thank you

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Best thing to do is contact the building offices and ask them directly, worth knowing for sure what they may or may not do in that case!

Hi there, not knowing the lay out, ie; is the house attatched or is the personnel door ont the garden / drive , i would say that the door onto a garden or outside space is fine, different rules for a door into the house.....but as the other person says it is always worth checking with the building inspector who has over seen the build. Hope this helps

I’m sure they will have an option for you to keep it in, as others said - tell the office that this is a requirement for yourself and I’m sure they will leave it in. Best of luck

You can have a personal door from your garage to your house as long as it is a fire door an has a door closer fitted I am sure the building company will now that
