Should there be gaps between guttering and soffit/fascia?

Hi Hope you can help. We had new guttering and soffits put up around our semi-detached house a year ago. We recently had a drive way laid and paving down the side path and patio area in the garden, before this it was exposed earth. Since we put the drive and paving down we have noticed that rain water is splashing on to wall of the house in a variety of areas. We hadn't noticed this before as the water was being soaked up into the exposed earth. When we looked up at the gutters we noticed light between the gutter and the soffit. Some areas the gutter was fixed tight to the soffit and other areas there's a gap about half a cm to 1 cm wide. It looks like the water isn't going into the gutter and running down the soffit/fascia. The builder that installed it says that normal. I've posted some pics of the gaps and you can see a video water dripping down the soffit/fascia. Hi looks like whoever fitted the new gutter system didn’t fit a support trey under the tiles...as the new facia as extended the new gutter away from the tiles causing a gap and a inevitable leak. Hope this helps

The roof carnt ov been set out right ,the tile or slate should be 2 inch into the gutter

There is always going to be a slight gap between 5 and 10 mm the problem I believe is that the roof tiles do not protrude far enough into the gutter not an easy fix but it can be done, regards John

The roof should extend 2 inches into the gutter so no daylight should be seen. The only way to fix it is to extend the overhang with a eve support tray.

Eps eves trays is ur easy option water will flow direct into the gutter
