Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.28 PM

I’m planning having a rewire and am looking for recommendations on the best affordable chrome sockets and switches. Many thanks.

A lot of people turn their noses up at them and I don't particularly use them... But the 'lap' sockets from screwfix are cheap and cheerful. You can get a pack of 5 making them cheaper also. The only problem you sometimes find is getting all the accessories that you may need in the same style (ie a fan isolator switch)

Screwfix does a number of different types of sockets and styles. I highly recommend using Screwfix but like the comment above it may be hard to find the same style for different switches.

Hi Personally I would never use LAP. As described cheep and cheerful for a reason. Go for a quality product. BG (British General) MK, Hagar, Crabtree Or Legrand. Will cost more but they will be double pole and will be of a higher quality finish. It's not a product you change much so it's worth the extra the first time.
