Live on a secondfloor flat of a converted house. When I shower (in the bath) it starts the overflow on my neighbours roof. Could there be a blockage which diverts the flow into the overflow?

I assume the bath overflow and drains are combined and water from bath is being forced into the overflow. What would be an easy way to find out if this is the case?

the overflow of the bath runs straight into the waste so it sounds like the waste pipe has come adrift.

The waste pipe from your bath could be leading in to a hopper then to the drain, if this was the case it would be an old set up and could be partially blocked. If you can, run the shower then go out and take a look. The problem should become apparent
