Need for Gas Safety Engineer?

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.27 PM

Hi. I'd appreciate some advice. I have a Baxi Bermuda VP gas fire and the front glass unit has been broken. Do I need a qualified GSE to fit the replacement glass? Thanks in advance! Thanks to those who have replied, appreciate that. One other thing if I may. I understand that I should not use the fire until repaired by a GSE. Can I use the back boiler though? It was serviced with the fire by a GSE in September. Thanks again.

Yes, you would require a gas safe registered engineer to work on it or carry out any repairs to any gas appliance to ensure the appliance is safe and the part is fitted correctly. Ps do not use the fire with the broken glass as it's unsafe, I would recommend you have it looked at by a gas safe registered engineer asap!
