radiator bleed screws

can anyone tell me if the new radiator bleed screws are the same type that are in the old style rads ive broken one while bleeding the bathroom one and cant get one anywhere nonone seems to stock them

no some are different,if you know what type and make,try your local scrap yard,they usually have lots of old rads.

I never change only screw but change whole new air bleed nut if u can otherwise u can try only screw if it's fit hopefully should be ok

Newer vents are different to the older ones if you are referring to the vent cap. Newer ones are slightly bigger than the old vents. You can get the vent key in most places such as proper job, screwfix, toolstation etc. Clock type keys are for newer radiators and a brass radiator key (has a bar through it) are for the older radiators

you can get replacement screws but you might have to shop around.if you have lost the water from the rad it might be better to replace the valve. for what it will take to to find the part,you still have to pay the plumber to fit it if you can't do it yourself.hope this helps
