Ring main 2.5mm Twin & Earth.
Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.52 PM
Earth on 2.5mm twin and earth is to short to reach earth terminal on a double socket, it was cut accidently. Want to increase length of earth by using a block connector. The position the block connector will be in will mean it will be either covered by plastic conduit or over plastered. Is this acceptable. If it is what rating/size block connector should I use. Thank you

You should not ‘plaster in’ or cover the connection. It should go in the back box, a wago connector on it, lengthened, reconnected. If unsure about any of this call an electrician in.

All connections need to be accessible. You can use 'maintenance free' connectors but you have to make sure you follow the manufactures guidelines to deem it 'maintenance free'.
So being in conduit or being 'plastered in' isn't the issue...it's the accessibility of that connection.

In conduit is fine but not plastered over. To plaster over connections need to made using wago connectors or crimped and then shrink wrapped

You could use a waterproof straight through crimp connector
