hot water running from bath when hot taps turned on elsewhere in house

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.52 PM

Hiya any help will be appreciated! We had a conventional boiler replaced with Vaillant eco tech plus 30. Since the fitting realised hot water tap in bath drips. Have now realised that when we turn on hot water taps in kitchen or bathroom sink it runs through the bath too alongside constant dripping day and night! Could this be issue with bath taps not being able to handle higher hot water pressure? Do I need to change bathroom taps? Currently have mixer taps. Worried that we will have extortionate heating bills as well as water bill. Please help! Baillant have said we cannot reduce pressure on the combi and its fault with the taps not being able to take the increased pressure Update: Thank you for the answers I successfully changed the cartridges in both taps!

Hi Diymum. You should try having the taps re-seated and new washers or new inserts if 1/4 turn type is your cheapest bet... otherwise new taps. It's likley a tap fault. regards, Bob.

Cheapest way is just replace taps If taps are old reseating May cure for a while but modern taps have little metal to reseat One labour cost to fit new but reseat and may not be a permanent solution so have to pay for labour

I had this once with taps that were 1/4 turn ones. The drop in pressure seems to release the ceramic cartridges inside. And when you turned the tap off. It stopped the other one running. I replaced the ceramic cartridges and it solved the problem
