Water flow poor in some taps but not all

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.05 PM

The hot tap in my kitchen has a very weak flow as does the cold tap in my bath, ( the taps for the sink in the bathroom are fine) what could be the reason for this? Thank you

Hi Alison. I suspect these things are coincidental and not connected. If you have a mono tap in the kitchen the flexible pipes underneath may be to small or twisted... it's a common problum when moving away from the normal two tap kitchen sink thus keeping the 15mm copper pipes which allow a faster flow. The cold bath tap may just need a washer repair... or something may be reducing the flow such as an airlock (if tank fed). Good luck, Bob.

Do you have tanks in your loft? It sounds like an indirect system which tend to have pressure problems, you can have pumps fitted, or it could be down to the tap valves, needs looking at really.
