Just bought a new oven - had the other one almost 20 years and it has a plug on it.

Will i have to have the new one wired in... Or can a plug be put on?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

You would need to establish the rating of the oven . This will be in the technical information . If it is more than 7.5 kw then it would probably need hard wiring .

If the Oven does not come supplied with a plug top fitted, chances are it is not designed to have one. Even 2.5 flex from an oven is designed to connect to an outlet plate or similar. It purely depends how powerful the new oven is. You wont really know until it arrives.

The kw rating of the oven would be a help.

Once the oven arrives the installation guide will state oven kw rating and a installation method which will show hard wired or not, also will state minimum cable csa to be used.
