Rain splashes against the window

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.05 PM

There are no gutters at the back and front of the flat roof which has always been fine. Recently, when the rain falls the water beats against the window pane and window sill. This never happened before. Two roofers had a look and could not give me a satisfactory answer to the problem. Anyone know what the problem could be?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Let's go down the road of what every body else thinks in the world it's down to global warming. Weather is changing rain coming down at all different angles especially when it's windy in causing more problems on roofs.

Either put a gutter system front and back .. or for a bigger job you can re slope the flat roof for the the water to run 1 way then to install a gutter system this should prevent the spalshing on the window ...

I believe with the heavy and torrential rain we have been having it sounds like you need guttering fitted to your flat roof as if this is not sorted it’s going to cause damp problems or even cause a leak.

If you’ve got a flat roof then the water would naturally run off roof at drip edges causing some water to run down windows/ walls some water would drip straight to window sill or floor causing a splash. At all edges on a flat roof you should have an upstand around perimeter with one side having a drip edge with gutter to take away rain water
