Crack in the inside pane of our angled roof window
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.25 PM
There's a crack in the inside pane of our roof window (angled, double glazed). The outside pane is OK. The window is still in one piece, thankfully. Do you think the pane can be replaced without replacing the entire window and exterior flashing? Size is approximately 58 x 79cm (for the glass only), approximately 67 x 90cm (for the whole window).

The glass has to be changed as one unit because its double glazed there should be no problem taking beads of from outside and refitting at later date with new unit

Yes you will be able to just replace the glass without replacing the window.

The Whole double glazed unit would need replaced as it it made up as one unit, however this can be replaced quite easily without the need to replace the window or flashing

Yes I can't see any reason why the glass can't b changed ,although it will need to be both inside and out ,ie the whole glass unit not just one side
