Top floor radiators slow to heat up

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.45 PM

We had a new boiler fitted last year and since then the radiators in our loft have been really slow to heat up. It takes them an hour to reach full capacity, by which time it’s hot downstairs where the thermostat is and the heating turns off. Is there a way to get the rads in the loft working faster and more equally with the others in the house? I’ve bled them but it hasn’t helped.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Sounds like the system needs balancing

was system power flushed ?, was it flushed properly ?,sludge could have been driven in to rads and pipework in loft ,have you balanced system ?,lots of videos on internet to show you how,is pump in boiler capable for size of system ?,you may need to get a heating engineer to check it out.

As mentioned it could be balancing needed , poor system design , pump issue , or undersized boiler ,these could all be contributing factors
