Will plasterer fill holes made from removing skirting boards when repairing walls after rewire?

I am having my house rewired, and before this is done I am removing wallpaper and skirting boards as they need replacing. The skirting boards have left large holes where they were nailed in, is this something I need to fill in or is this a job a plaster can do? Many thanks.

Depends how deep & big they are, a good plasterer will fill them with bonding first, should never skim over deep holes as plaster is only a 3mm, 2 coat skim, will just crack out. Make sure everything is PVA'd first & scrim over all bonding chases & cracks.

I would fill the holes with hardwall or bonding coat then skim the whole lot over for a much better job .

Should bond the holes and skim if PVA isn’t applied before hand will just fall off/out

Outside wall will need waterproof mix of render and then plaster. The other chaps are right about bonding and then skim on inside walls.
