Laminate before or after plastering is done around new doors?

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.27 PM

We have had new doors fitted in. Plastering needs to be done around it. The laminate also needs to go down. The plasterer is not available for a couple of days and I was thinking of starting with laying the floor to save time then cover the floor up so it doesn’t get dirty. Wise or not?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Most plastering jobs are done with floor coverings already in place. As long as the flooring is well covered you shouldn’t have a problem

It is best to plaster first but if it is only a small area you could lay the floor first use corex sheets then on top a dust sheet and if your plasterer is careful there should be no problem.

Hi there always plaster first you won’t damage the flooring but moisture after skimming could cause a problem
