Laying bricks onto tiles
Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.51 PM
Hi, I'm building an outdoor pizza oven and want to build a brick arch at the front of the oven. I'm using half bricks for the arch. I would like the arch to start on a tile hearth at the from of the oven but i'm unsure how to get the bricks and mortar to stick to the tiles, i suspect it will just slide off? any advice appreciated. Thanks. -- Update, thanks all for the advise, i took it onboard and didn't lay the bricks on the tiles, i added the tiles, cut around the base of the arch afterwards. Worked out great. Thanks.

Brickwork is remarkably strong providing the first course is laid and supported once its gone off it won’t move

I considering to not lay bricks on top of tiles ! First you can build the arch , and your job as a Brickler ! Do Not lay the tiles if the bricks arch is not dry ! And Do Not lay the tiles if you’re not tiles professional . Thanks Besi

An alternative could be to lay the bricks on the tiled before laying them so they are gone of and won't slide?
