Can I render inside my fireplace?
Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.51 PM
I currently have an open fireplace and would like to keep that (not have a wood burning stove). I'd like to tidy up the brick work within the fireplace and was wondering if there's some sort of heat proof render / plastering that I could use to just smooth off the inside?
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Your best option would be to use fire retardant fibre cement board which you can paint straight to

yes you can but you use non-hydrated lime instead of cement as cement cracks. or you could use the victus heat resistant plaster system if you don't mind paying for it.

Your need to use fire cement in the render to stop it blowing with the heat
