Increased hot water pressure in mixer tap

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.51 PM

We have a mixer tap in the kitchen. We moved into the house last year so not sure how old the kitchen is, but possibly around 2003. Literally overnight the hot water pressure has really increased, and doesn't come out all of the holes in the tap unless it's on full blast. It's as if it's on a jet setting. I've tried to reduce pressure at valve underneath, but it either goes to nothing at all to the jet blast again. Any ideas why this has happened? Thanks!

Some mixer taps have a filter in the end of the tap it coukd possibly be scaled up reducing the hole . If there is try removing it they usually unscrew and clean it either by hand or using a descaling solution.

Yes it sounds like some sort of blockage in the tap

Providing its only in the kitchen tap and not all hot taps, then I would agree this is the cause.
