Finishing of tv wall?

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.51 PM

I have a tv wall built approx 2.5m tall x 1.5m wide x 0.5m deep. It has plasterboard on it, I want to paint it but will it need a full plaster job or is there any alternative?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

By the sound of it looks like your wall is on the ground floor which makes a difference because of the high level of humidity that can penetrate the exterior wall from outside. I strongly recommend that you are skimming the wall instead of tape join due to the further problems that may arise. An internal wall can be easily tape join and painted. In either occasion I recommend plaster due the good qualities that he provides in long term and not only... Best of luck!

Easiest way would be to tape and fill the tv wall, much quicker and a lot cheaper

A plasterer will scrim tape the joints of the plasterboard then skim over the lot once it's gone off it can be painted, I've worked alongside plasterers and never seen a problem arisen from this method.
