I have a dripping two and wet brick are the two connected?
Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.51 PM
Hi I have a dripping kitchen tap. Directly outside the kitchen is the garden tap. The brick around the garden tap is wet and looks like there is a leak internally which maybe connected to the kitchen tap if that makes sense. When I switch the water off the brick dries up. Can anyone advise what this could be?

They have Tee'd off the cold supply from your kitchen to put in a new garden tap. If it was done properly they used a wall flange which a thick copper tube meant to go in the wall. If it's not done properly they put a normal bit of copper through the wall and because the house moves millimeters at a time it's cut the thin copper. Or it Could be condensation, could be a pin hole leak in the pipework or a joint. The outside tap should have an isolation valve that shuts off the water to that tap without switching off your kitchen supply

Dear Michael. Unfortunately you do have a pipe pin hole or poor joint within the brickwork, the cause is unknown but the only solution is to have this pipe replaced. Hope this helps. Bob.

There isn't anything wrong with the previous answer but to put it simply there must be a leak either from one of the tap connectors or on the pipework. A plumber should be able to locate the leak with little difficulty and fix it for you.

The dripping tap will not be related unless you mean the pipework to the tap is dripping, if your bricks are noticeable wet then more then likely you have a leaky joint on the exterior pipe
