Brick up or replace boarded-up broken single-glazed wooden-framed pantry window
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.25 PM
Just wondering whether it might be cheaper to brick up, repair (wood or upvc) or replace my currently broken, single-glazed, wooden-framed, small pantry window. Would prefer in the long-run to have double-glazed...
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

If your looking at the long run then your best option is to get a double glazed window now to save replacing brickwork that youd be replacing now

As a pantry window it may be easier and more cheaper in the long run to replace with a upvc fixed window

It's cheaper to brick up the pantry window but it means no day light gets in,and if it was me I would think of the benefits of both window or brick

Hello.
If the window is to be bricked-up, the internals would also need to be bricked-up, otherwise the cavity would in all likely-hood be open.
This would then need to be plaster-boarded, skimed and decorated.
So all things considered, The window is the easier option.
I hope this helps.
