Material for balustrades - glass, acrylic, perspex or polycarbonate?

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.25 PM

I'm about to start renovations on a flat that has a mezzanine. Tinted/frosted glass would look great but I think that'll be super-expensive (there's probably about 15 square metres to cover). What are the alternatives, advantages, disadvantages and how could I achieve a similar look much cheaper? Thanks Matthew

You can apply film to clear glass, but it must be toughend glass. This may be a cheaper option. Film can be applied easily but the surface must be clean and free of dust.
