Do I need to change just the hose or the entire mixer tap because of a hole in hose
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.25 PM
Hello Traders, Request your vital guidance In my bath we have a mixer tap and a connected hose as per the following link: https://www.bathroomspareparts.co.uk/ideal-standard-ceraplan-sl-chrome-dual-control-shower-kit-b7892aa-spare-parts-102500-p.asp Now, there is a leak in hose in fact a small hole. Do i just need to replace the hose or the entire mixer tap as well as new hose. As I am unsure if I can separate the hose myself or is that a plumbers job (i.e. for full replacement) and how much should the labor cost if its full replacement

You can just fit a new hose, the hose will screw off by hand but if a bit tight it may need a small wrench , a new set of taps will cost £55 approx to fit ,hipe this helps

Yes, you can just remove the old one screwing it anticlockwise and take it to screwfix, they will provide you a new one. Price for this part is 5-£10. Thank you

If it's just the hose that is faulty you can just replace the hose. Quick fix if it is just the hoes and cheaper than the whole tap being replaced.
To replace the hoes undo anticlockwise with a adjustable wrench but when fitting a new one I'd always cover the new hose with a rag before you tighten so you dont scuff or damage the new hose.
Hope this helps :)

You should be able to replace hoses,as they have rubber washers hand tight with a nip to tighten You can get push fit for easy connection to pipework.
