Hi, disconnect all services first and strip out all of the existing sanitary ware, fittings & fixtures and tiles, dispose of them safely. Inspect the existing structure, especially floor. If you have timber joists, check condition. If you are considering underfloor heating, you may want to insulate between the joists. Try to eliminate any movement so you don't have tiles cracking later. First fix plumbing comes next, put in all the pipe work for new bathroom fittings in correct positions, some parts may need fitting at this stage, such as concealed cistern, concealed shower valve etc. First fix electrics is next for lighting, electric underfloor heating or mechanical ventilation. After first fix plumbing & electrics and work to floor, you board the room. Cement board is best practice. Additional ply before cement board may be useful if you are hanging any heavy furniture or sanitary ware on the walls. Once you board up, you may want to add tanking/waterproofing. Then its bath and shower tray install, after that comes tiling, sanitary ware, fittings & fixtures install and plumbing connections may need to happen at the same time in case cut outs are required for some of the fittings. Don't forget to silicone everything at the end. Use a swimming pool grade silicone. Hope that helps!

Remove sanitary goods. Tile. Then refit sanitary over tiles. Never tile around toilet/sink etc as it's highly unlikely that you will ever find a matching replacement should you ever need too!

The sanitary is the last to go in. All tiling and flooring to be completed followed by what we call 2nd fix , this includes the sanitary ,shower, bath , shower screen etc finished with a bead of silicone.
