New door required from house to garage. do I need approval from building control. I live in Scotland 🏴 Edinburgh does that make a difference?

Due to fire regulations, i would say that you will need to get building control guidance to ensure that it is done in line with building regulations.

yes , seek advice from building control, given you will need to be adding support be it lintels or other forms, And even more so with todays insurance culture.(were there,s blames there,s a claim)
