You may of heard of it on cowboy builders but nobody on this site would suggest laying wooden flooring over the top of carpet.

Never ever lay a wooden floor on a carpet as there is to much give in a carpet and due to this will cause stress on the joints and possibly cause the to fracture and open up

NEVER HEARD OF THIS BEFORE AND WOULD ADVISE AGAINST IT,THERE WILL BE TOO MUCH MOVEMENT ON THE CARPET FOR THE FLOOR
