Combination microwave wiring
Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.51 PM
My existing microwave with grill has a plug connection at the rear into a socket which then has an isolation switch above the worktop incorporated within a panel. It is on the same circuit as all other downstairs sockets. I want to replace this with a combination microwave, which says it needs to be hardwired. They both say they are 16A, though the old microwave grill plug seems to be fitted with a 13A fuse. Do I need a separate circuit for the combination microwave or can it simply be hardwired by making a join into the existing wiring? Or can I simply fit a plug?
