How to limit bathroom shower water usage by time?

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.03 PM

Hi all. I am looking at way to limit the operation of an electric shower at home to 7 minutes. I have many visitors coming and going as we are a big family and I see that showers are taking too long... I would like to install something to limit the shower limit to 7 minutes. What market available device would you recommend?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

I would suggest in installing a electric shower with a timing device on the front so the customer can keep track of how long the shower has been ran for. This way the customer/vistors can track the time and set timer to 6/7 minutes.

Firstly, & i reference a suggestion in a previous post for showermanager, this is not suitable for an electric shower as the outlet should never be restricted. You could try 1 of these from Tameson, providing a dedicated supply pipe for the shower is accessible away from the shower itself. It would be desirable that the light switch cannot be readily accessed from the bath / shower cubicle. It would also train people to be quicker to get done before the water shuts off. https://tameson.co.uk/shower-timer.html

Use a non concussive shower attachment. This will work intermittently and saves you time and money. Thanks Peter
