Splashing kitchen tap

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.03 PM

My kitchen tap splashes everywhere! I had a new kitchen fitted a year ago and the tap has been a problem since then. Is there anything I can do to stop it? Would an aerator work? This is the tap... https://houseofenki.com/dorchester-kitchen-tap-gold.html Thanks! I don't think it has a screw on mesh (I'll need to check when I'm home) It splashes ALL the time - hot and cold!

Try and reduce the flow on on the isolation valves under the sink if the is any, turn the tap full open and adjust with a flat head or butter knife occluding to what you require.

Does this tap have a screw on mesh filter on the end? If so, is it the same when removed? Does this just splash everywhere on the hot, cold or all the time?

Water pressure to high, if there are isolation valves on the hot and cold pipes under the sink try turning them down slightly, run the cold water and turn it down to an acceptable flow then do the same with the hot water.

It all depends on the hot water system you have. If you have a combi boiler, or unvented cylinder, your cold water will be mains fed, and your hot will mains fed (combi boiler) or balanced (unvented) . So you could always put an isolation valve on the pipework below and slightly shit it off to reduce the pressure.
