Worchester Greenstar Combi Boiler heating not working

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.24 PM

Hi, I have a Worchester greenstar boiler but heating stopped working. Hot water works perfectly but not heating. All radiators are blead and valves open and pressure stays at around 2 bars. I have read some common issues and some people are suggesting it could be a diverter valve. How could I test it before purchasing a new one and could you suggest any other fault that I could check. Thanks

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

First thing would be to test external controls. There is a way to put boiler into engineer mode and check for flow. Problem sounds more like pump than diverter valve.

Replace the batteries in your thermostat if you put a demand for central heating on u must me competent with safe isolation so isolate the boiler at the fused spur then remove the electrical panel at the bottom of the boiler a couple of screws underneath pull that down it will expose the pcb check for power over ls and lr that is the terminals for the external heating controls if there is power either side and not coming on it will be the diverted motor not moving so all the heat will just circulate around the plate heatex u will also notice the hot water is hotter than normal with this fault hope it’s helped cheers paul

It could also be a problem with the flow switch or hot water sensor

External controls check 1st then book an engineer to run the boiler in service mode. Won't be a pump issue as the hot water is working. Check all TRV heads are working ok
