Bathroom Fitting

Shower twin thermostatic mixer valve screw on wall with out digging

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.24 PM

The situation is like to fit shower valve to feed shower and bath taps. We have wall then plaster boat which is supported on timber creating stud wall. So there is gap between wall and plaster board. So can i screw the valve straight on wall without digging into wall as valve will be hidden behinh the plaster board..

Yes however it's always best to get an approved professional from My Builder to guide you through this process as its money well spent if that makes any sense at all 🤔

Yes absolutely you can fit the valve to the masonary wall. However, you need to seriously check the required finished depth that gives you once the tiles are on. Unless the plasterboard cavity is more then about 60mm, you might need to chip a little bit of the masonary wall surface back to let the valve sit in deeper. Hope that makes sense!

Hi you will be able to mount the valve directly onto original wall inbetween the stud work providing the depth of the valve is less or the same as the void if less you can pack the valve out from main wall so then when you fit the thermo valve to tiles or aqua panel it's a flush fit hope this helps
